What therapy with me actually looks like

My approach to therapy is honest, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe that meaningful change comes from understanding yourself while also taking positive steps toward building a life that feels rewarding.

I particularly enjoy working with young adults and individuals navigating substance use disorders, addiction, and recovery. I also connect well with people who are curious, analytical, and interested in exploring the patterns that influence their behaviors.

I don't believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. Every person brings their own experiences, challenges, and goals into the room, and I tailor our work to meet those individual needs.

My sessions are conversational and can combine practical strategies with deeper self-reflection. I draw from approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and other therapeutic techniques to help you build insight and move toward meaningful change.

Through my clinical experience working in addiction and mental health settings, as well as my own lived experience with long-term recovery, I understand that change is rarely a straight line.

My goal is to help you feel supported while also encouraging you to take ownership of your growth and create a life that feels purposeful and fulfilling.

Get to know me beyond the therapy room

Outside of the therapy room, I’m usually spending time with my family, going for a walk, or finding some way to move my body. Whether it’s a workout, getting outside, or simply enjoying the little moments with the people I love, I believe in making time for the things that help us feel grounded, connected, and like ourselves.

My favorite way to recharge is…

Spending quality time with my family, going for a walk, or getting in a good workout. Moving my body and spending time with the people I love are two of my favorite ways to reset and recharge.

Something I wish more people knew about therapy is…

That therapy really isn’t as scary or intimidating as it might seem! You don’t have to be in crisis, have experienced something traumatic, or even have a specific problem to work through. Therapy can simply be a space to get to know yourself better, understand your patterns, navigate everyday challenges, and grow into the person you want to be. You don’t have to wait until things feel overwhelming to start.

If I could give everyone one piece of advice, it would be…

Listen to yourself and trust yourself. We spend so much time looking outside of ourselves for answers, reassurance, and validation that we sometimes forget how much we already know. Learning to tune into your own needs, feelings, and intuitionβ€”and trusting yourself enough to act on themβ€”is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself
