What therapy with me actually looks like

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe that healing begins with feeling safe, understood, and supported, especially when you're working through experiences that may have shaped the way you see yourself and your relationships.

I particularly enjoy working with young adults who are navigating life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and relationship difficulties. I also work with individuals who have experienced trauma, including domestic violence, and are looking to regain a sense of safety and confidence.

As both a therapist and a fitness instructor and personal trainer, I understand the importance of the mind-body connection and how our mental and physical well-being influence one another. This perspective allows me to approach therapy with a more holistic understanding of wellness, recognizing that taking care of yourself goes beyond just your thoughts and emotions.

Together, we'll explore how your past experiences may be influencing your thoughts, emotions, and relationships today. We'll work toward understanding patterns that no longer serve you, building healthier coping strategies, and strengthening your relationship with yourself.

I incorporate trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR, to support you in processing difficult experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

My goal is to help you feel more empowered, connected to yourself, and confident as you navigate the next chapter of your life.

Get to know me beyond the therapy room

Outside of the therapy room, I love cooking, discovering new restaurants, and finding ways to stay active. Fitness is a huge part of my life, and as both a personal trainer and fitness instructor. Whether I'm trying a new recipe, getting a workout in, or spending time outdoors, I enjoy finding a balance between movement, connection, and doing the things I love.

My favorite way to recharge is…

Going on long walks with friends or spending time outside with an iced coffee in hand. There's something about fresh air, good company, and a little time away from a busy schedule that helps me reset. Sometimes the simplest moments are the best way to recharge.

Something I wish more people knew about therapy is…

That therapy isn't a one-size-fits-all approach! Everyone comes into therapy with different experiences, personalities, and goals, and what works for one person might not work for another.

If I could give everyone one piece of advice, it would be…

Don't be afraid of feeling anxious. So often, we become anxious about the anxiety itself, which can make everything feel even more overwhelming. Anxiety is a natural part of being human, and we don't always need to fight it, avoid it, or push it away. Sometimes, slowing down, acknowledging what we're feeling, and allowing ourselves to experience those emotions can make them much easier to manage.
